Three cases with light-induced retinopathy

  • Published:
Documenta Ophthalmologica Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

Three patients presented a characteristic retinopathy presumbly induced by light arising from operating microscope during extracapsular cataract extraction combined with intraocular lens insertion. The operating microscope was equipped with video-recorder. Light sources were tungsten bulb. All cases were asymptomatic and an inspection at the post-operative control examination led to the detection of this type of retinopathy.
