Studies of a strain of herpes virus isolated from a case of upper respiratory disease

Summary

A typical herpes virus was isolated from a human case of acute undifferentiated upper respiratory tract disease. The virus infected human respiratory mucosa in culture and human volunteers to whom it was given by the nasal route. There was no evidence that it caused respiratory disease.
