Lithium indene reacts with N-p-toluenesulfonylaziridene to yield N-[2-(1-3Hindenyl)ethyl-p-toluenesulfonamide, C18H19NO2S. The structure consists of independent molecules with the indene group substituted at the expected 1 position of the five-membered ring. The sulfonylamide moiety has a planar arrangement about the N atom.
