A miniature piston-cylinder high-pressure cell has been constructed for experiments with energy-dispersive X-ray diffraction. The maximum pressure achieved was 37 × 108 Pa. Examples are given for KCl and MgO, both measured with NaCl as an internal standard. The phase transition in KCl has been observed and the CsCl structure type verified.
