Solubility of niobium(V) and tantalum(V) under mild alkaline conditions
2015, HydrometallurgyCitation Excerpt :The absorbance spectra of the samples at lower pH (9 to 11.4) are shifted toward lower wavelengths suggesting that other ions are present in solution. Hexaniobate ions can be di-protonated (H2Nb6O196 −) and tri-protonated (H3Nb6O195 −) and the protonation of the cluster Nb6O198 − shifts its absorbance spectra toward lower wavelengths as reported elsewhere (Jander and Ertel, 1960; Deblonde et al., 2015). Hence, di-protonated and tri-protonated hexaniobate ions could be present at 9 ≤ pH < 12.
