Abstract

By using the computer program TRAPRB developed by Jarmain and McCallum, Franck-Condon factors and r-centroids have been calculated for the E1Σ+X1Σ+ bands of the SiS and SiSe radicals. Intensities of these bands have been visually estimated from the emission spectra photographed on a 3.4 m Ebert grating spectrograph (5 Å/mm). A comparison of the Franck-Condon factors with these estimated intensities shows reasonable agreement.

Two main conclusions can be drawn from the previous reviews. ( 1) A number of experiments [17–31] have been performed wherein the transition properties of the A1Π – X1Σ+, E1Σ+ – X1Σ+, a3Σ+ – X1Σ+, and b3Π – X1Σ+ systems have been measured, and the origins of numerous vibronic bands have been assigned. However, no radiative lifetimes of any states and no Einstein A coefficients of any emissions have been determined in any experiments. (
