Multiphoton excitation of potassium

Abstract

The Rydberg series of atomic potassium has been measured for 4S-nD transitions from n = 13 to 41 by two-photon and hybrid resonance excitation. Detection of the excitation was by means of an ionization detector. Quantum defects and term values accurate to 1 cm-1 were computed for the measured transitions.
