Abstract

A CR-39 track-etch detector with a radiator stack consisting of 1 mm Cd, 3 mm polypropylene, 300 μm Makrofol E and 3 mm air showed an almost flat neutron dose equivalent response for neutrons in the energy range between thermal and 14.8 MeV. Rough spectrometric information was obtained in three energy regions from thermal neutrons to 100 keV, from 100 keV to 2 MeV and for neutrons above 2 MeV by separately evaluating a Makrofol sheet and two CR-39 sheets, with and without a 3 mm thick air radiator.
