Abstract

The energy and angle dependence of the response of the previously developed CR-39 neutron dosemeter with air converter for the detection of albedo neutrons via the 14N(n,p) reaction has been further improved, and measurements extended to neutron energies up to 66 MeV. The reasonably flat energy dependence of the dosemeter response from thermal up to 45 MeV (factor of 3) allows a neutron dose determination by the electrochemical etching of only one CR-39 detector. For high-energy neutrons, additional information is available by the evaluation of the inserted Makrofol track detector.
