QED theory of the spectral line profile and its applications to atoms and ions
2008, Physics ReportsQuantum electrodynamical effects in heavy highly-charged ions
2003, Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and AtomsCitation Excerpt :For the discussion of other QED effects in heavy atoms (in particular, for the hyperfine splitting in H- and Li-like ions, and for the Lamb shift in He-like ions) we refer the reader to the recent review [1]. The Lamb shift in heavy H-like ions has been intensively studied at SIS/ESR facilities in GSI during the last decade [2–6]. The best accuracy in experiments of this kind was achieved in the measurement of the ground-state Lamb shift in H-like uranium [5,6] and is about several units per cent.
