Precise angular distribution measurements for high energetic ions

Abstract

The reliability of a position sensitive parallel plate avalanche counter as a start detector at the entrance of a magnetic spectrometer is demonstrated. Implications for experiments with high energetic heavy ions are drawn from the results.
