Abstract

To fully exploit the spatial resolution capabilities of drift chambers operated at low drift velocities and readout by flash analog to digital converters, the use of shaping amplifiers becomes essential. The concept, the optimization study and results from tests of the shaping amplifier developed for the central tracking chamber of the L3 experiment at LEP are presented.
