Maximum currents in an inverse free electron laser

Abstract

In this article the possibility of coherent radiation from an electron beam in an undulator section of the IFEL accelerator, analogous to the beam loading effect in radio-frequency linacs, is discussed. Estimates of the maximum current in different types of IFEL accelerators are presented.
