Abstract

The optical elements necessary for transport of a heavy ion beam from the exit of the USP Pelletron to the entrance of a superconducting linac accelerator have been chosen using a computer simulation of the optical path. Special attention has been given to the values of the beam transverse and longitudinal emittances necessary for proper beam injection into the linac. Results are presented graphically.
