Abstract

The temperature behaviour of a bismuth germanate crystal to be used on a large-solid-angle, high-energy spectrometer has been measured from −5 to +35°C to establish the relevance of temperature-related drifts on peak broadening and to understand the type of temperature monitoring necessary to off-line correction of these effects. Both light-output and decay-time variations have been investigated and compared to previous results.
