Results of the second level software trigger used in the Na10 experiment at CERN

Abstract

In the NA10 experiment at CERN, dead time reduction and data filtering is obtained with a multiprocessor system using four microprocessor “GESPRO” and a fast multi-event buffer.

This paper describes the system philosophy, the hardware structure of the acquisition system, the GESPRO software and gives its performances and its experimental results.
