Abstract

Parity violation enhancement effects in neutron-nucleus interactions near the p-wave compound-resonances is examined in the shell-model approach to the nuclear reactions. The possibility of enhancement is justified as a result of the mixing of the continuum states with opposite parities, caused by the weak interaction. Analytical expressions are obtained for the spin rotation angle of transversally polarized neutrons in the medium, and for the relative difference of the total cross sections of the interaction between neutrons with different helicities and nuclei. Their calculated values for the nuclei 117Sn and 139La are compared with the experimental data.
