Abstract

By the bombardment of 58Ni and 54Fe targets with 250 Mev 58Ni beams two proton radioactive nuclides have been produced and identified as 113Cs and tentatively as 109I. The observed half-lives and proton energies are T12= 0.9−0.4+1.3 μs, E P = 0.98 ± 0.08 MeV for 113Cs and T12 > 25 μs, EP = 0.83 ± 0.08 MeV for 109I.
