Abstract

Cross sections for elastic magnetic electron scattering from 49Ti have been obtained in the momentum transfer range 0.75 ≤ q ≤ 1.40 fm. Apart from the M1 and M7 moments the observed quenching of the response function cannot be described by the present large space shell-model calculations. Core-polarization calculations including the effects of meson-exchange currents yield a considerably better description of the present data.
