Abstract

We have measured the rate for KL0π+π as a function of the thickness of lead absorber placed in a KL0 beam at SLAC. Measurements were made with 12″, 18″ and 24″ of lead. Our results, which are relatively constant, are in strong disagreement with models which ascribe this decay mode to an additional neutral kaon state which is CP even, does not interact strongly, but otherwise has properties similar to the K20 state.
