E2/M1 admixture of the 2′ → 2 transition in 108Pd

Abstract

An angular correlation measurement between two cascade γ-rays from the Coulomb-excited state in 108Pd at 931 keV was used to establish a value of − (3.1 ± 0.4) for the E2/M1 radiative admixture δ of the 2′ → 2, 497 keV γ-ray. From this and earlier information, we determined B(E2; 2′ → 2) = (24.8 ± 5.5) × 10−50 e2 · cm4 and B(M1; 2′ → 2) = (4.4 ± 1.4) × 10−3 (eh̷2Mc)2.
