(t, p) and (τ, p) reactions to 0+ isobaric analogue pairs

Abstract

The experimental data available on (τ, p) and (t, p) cross sections to isobaric analogue pairs of 04 states from 20Ne to 56Fe is surveyed. A distorted-wave analysis is presented and the ratio of experimental cross sections rexp = σ(τ, p)σ(t, p) is compared to the corresponding DWBA prediction rDW = σDW(τ, P)σDW(t, P) for each of the 16 analogue pairs. The main conclusion is that R =rexprDW is significantly larger than unity. The possible reasons for this are briefly discussed.
