(t, p) and (τ, p) reactions to 0+ isobaric analogue pairs

Abstract

The experimental data available on (τ, p) and (t, p) cross sections to isobaric analogue pairs of 0⁴ states from ²⁰Ne to ⁵⁶Fe is surveyed. A distorted-wave analysis is presented and the ratio of experimental cross sections $r_{exp} = σ(τ, p) σ(t, p)$ is compared to the corresponding DWBA prediction $r_{DW} = σ^{DW} (τ, P) σ^{DW} (t, P)$ for each of the 16 analogue pairs. The main conclusion is that $R = r^{exp} r^{DW}$ is significantly larger than unity. The possible reasons for this are briefly discussed.
