Abstract

The following reaction cross sections have been measured using the activation method: 40Ar(n, α)37S, 31±5 mb; 48Ti(n, α)45Ca, 39±6 mb; 50Ti(n, α)47Ca, 9.4±3 mb; 62Ni(n, α)59Fe, 22±3 mb; 106Cd(n, α)103Pd, 100±40 mb; 108Cd(n, 2n)107Cd, 504± mb; 110Cd(n, p)110Ag, 27±5 mb; 111Cd(n, p)111Ag, 14±1.4 mb; 112Cd(n, α)109Pd, 2.4±0.4 mb; 112Cd(n, p)112Ag, 11±1 mb; 113Cd(n, p)113Ag, 7.9±0.8 mb; 114Cd(n, α)111mPd, 0.2±0.03 mb; 114Cd(n, α)111gPd, 0.5±0.08 mb; 116Cd(n, α)113Pd, 0.5±0.5 mb; 116Cd(n, p)116Ag, 0.2±0.1 mb; 116Cd(n, 2n)115mCd, 730±60 mb; 116Cd(n, 2n)115gCd, 857±70 mb; and 206Pb(n, α)203Hg, 2.7±0.5 mb. The results were found to be in fairly good agreement with the semi-empirical predictions of Gardner, Yu and Rosenblum.
