Abstract

Neutron pick-up cross sections and vector analyzing powers have been measured for the reaction ⁵⁵Mn( $d$ , t)⁵⁴Mn at 17 MeV. The mixture of $p_{12}$ to $p_{32}$ transfer to the low-lying l_n = 1 states has been found. Evidence of the $f_{72}$ hole nature of several strong l_n = 3 states above 1 MeV has been obtained.

The 2005 evaluation for A=54 (2006Hu08) has been updated. Detailed experimental nuclear structure data and decay data for all nuclei with mass chain A=54 are presented in this current evaluation. The new data and information are given in following datasets:
- ⁵⁴Ca: ⁹Be(⁷⁶Ge, X) and Be(⁵⁵Sc, p), (⁵⁶Ti, 2p)
- ⁵⁴Sc: ⁵⁴Ca $β^{-}$ decay and ⁵⁴Sc IT decay

- ⁵⁴Mn: ⁵¹V(²⁰Ne, Xγ), ⁵⁵Mn(p, pn), and ⁵⁶Fe(μ, nu2ng)
- ⁵⁴Fe: ⁵⁸Ni α decay, ⁹Be(⁵⁵Co, Xγ), ⁵⁴Fe(e, e'), ⁵⁴Fe(p, p'), and Coulomb Excitation

Experimental nuclear structure and decay data pertaining to all nuclei with mass number A=54 have been compiled and evaluated. Level schemes from both radioactive decay and reaction studies are presented, along with associated tables of experimental data and adopted properties for levels and transitions. This work supersedes the previous evaluation by H. Verheul and R. L. Auble (78Ve02) published in Nuclear Data Sheets 23, 455 (1978).
The reaction <sup>67</sup>Zn(t, α)<sup>66</sup>Cu

Levels of ⁶⁶Cu have been studied using the (t, α) reaction on ⁶⁷Zn at 18 MeV. Orbital and, in some cases, total angular momentum transfer were inferred from a comparison of differential cross sections with those measured for the same reaction on the even zinc isotopes. The quartet of levels corresponding to the p_$32$ proton pick-up from the $52$ ⁻ target was identified. In addition, a strong set of l = 3 transitions was found corresponding to pickup from the f_$72$ proton shell.
