Abstract

The excited states of 144Pm have been investigated for the first time by means of the proton transfer reactions 143Nd(3He, d) and 143Nd(α, t). Also reported are the results of high resolution singles and coincidence studies of the γ-rays produced in the reactions 141Pr(α, n) and 144Nd(p, n). Twelve low-lying levels have been identified up to an excitation of 514 keV. Following a gap of more than 300 keV in which no levels are observed, the level density increases again.
