Analyzing power of inclusive spectra in the reaction ⁹Be($\text{p}$, d)

Abstract

At $\text{E}{}_{\mathrm{<mtext>p</mtext>}}\text{= 60}\text{MeV}$ we have investigated the analyzing power A_y of the continuum part of the inclusive deuteron spectra in ⁹Be($\text{p}$, d) reaction at θ_d= 30°, 40°, 50°, 60°, 70° and 80°. Analyzing powers A_y have been calculated extracting the amplitudes of the constant matrix elements of the different final states contributing to the continuum. We observe A_y compatible with zero for dαα, dp⁷Li, dpαt and dpαdn phase spaces, in contrast with high analyzing power values measured for resonant ⁸Be levels.
