Analyzing power of inclusive spectra in the reaction 9Be(p, d)

Abstract

At Ep = 60 MeV we have investigated the analyzing power Ay of the continuum part of the inclusive deuteron spectra in 9Be(p, d) reaction at θd= 30°, 40°, 50°, 60°, 70° and 80°. Analyzing powers Ay have been calculated extracting the amplitudes of the constant matrix elements of the different final states contributing to the continuum. We observe Ay compatible with zero for dαα, dp7Li, dpαt and dpαdn phase spaces, in contrast with high analyzing power values measured for resonant 8Be levels.
