Abstract

The energy spectra of the two outgoing protons in the reaction 2H(p, 2p)n have been studied at various incident energies between 5 and 10 MeV. Enhancements in the cross sections due to final-state interactions and spectator poles have been observed. The study of the final-state interactions yields an n-p scattering length of 24 ± 1.2 fm which agrees with the value obtained directly from n-p scattering.
