Abstract

Starting from free nucleon-nucleon phase-shifts, the nucleon-nucleus optical potential is calculated within the impulse approximation including multiple scattering terms (no free parameter). The results are presented for 152 MeV protons scattered by 4He, 12C, 24Mg and 28Si nuclei and compared for elastic scattering (and inelastic scattering using DWIA) with experimental results and predictions obtained with the usual phenomenological potentials.
