Impulse approximation and spin observables in inelastic nucleon-nucleus scattering

Abstract

The application of impulse approximation to inelastic scattering requires the momentum transfers involved in the two-body t-matrix and the transition density to be different from each other. This leads to different symmetry relations between spin transfer observables in particular PAy and Dxz + Dzx.
