Abstract

Scattering data for 12C+12C, 13C+12C, and 16O+12C at energies EA = 9 to 120 MeV per nucleon have been analyzed using a folded potential based on the density-and energy-dependent DDM3Y interaction. The renormalization required for the real potential is about unity at all energies. A unified description of these data is obtained with a relatively weakly absorbing imaginary potential. Furthermore, only this type of potential provides a successful description of the 12C+12C data at 140 and 159 MeV which cover almost the whole angular range. Potential ambiguities are discussed.
