Abstract

Low-lying 72 states with a ΔJ = 1 band on taop have been described in N = 29 odd-mass nuclei starting from a deformed basis. Evidence for this approach results from calculating the total potential energy surfaces associated with the 72[303] Nilson orbital. The level schemes as well as electromagnetic properties (μ, Q, δ, T12) have been calculated and compared with the existing experimental data in the particular case of 53Cr and 55Fe.
