Abstract

The g-factor of the 49.72 keV level of 132I has been measured to be g = +0.74±0.10 from the rotation ωτ of the angular correlation pattern of the 228.18−49.72 keV gamma-ray cascade in an external field of 19.5 kG. The spin of the level being 3+ its magnetic moment is μ = 2.22±0.30 n.m.. This value of the magnetic moment agrees very well with the (g72)p (d32)n assignment for the configuration of this level.
