Pion-heavy ion scattering total and inelastic cross sections for space radiation applications
2019, Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and AtomsCitation Excerpt :Above about 200 MeV the differences between π+ and π− inelastic cross sections become negligible. In Figs. 5 to 7 we show comparisons of the 1st and 2nd order optical models to experimental data [3–5,12,1,18] for 12C, 27Al and 63Cu nuclei. These experiments used both positively and negatively charged pi-mesons.
