Abstract

Energetic light particles have been measured in coincidence with two outgoing fission fragments which results from the reaction 16O + 238U at 315 MeV. Central and peripheral collisions can be distinguished by the momentum transferred to the target residue as deduced from the angle between coincident fission fragments. A remarkable similarity is observed in the forward angle light particle spectra observed in peripheral and central collisions.
