Abstract

Excitation functions and mean recoil ranges are reported for the formation of 182Os, 183Re, 182Re, 181Re and 182Ta in 10, 11B interactions with 181Ta. The stacked foil technique was used. The results are indicative of formation through a transfer reaction. We have considered a nucleon group transfer mechanism in a surface interaction followed by de-excitation via nucleon emission from the excited intermediate. Thus the energy dependence of recoils and cross sections of single nucleon and multinucleon transfer products have been calculated and found in good agreement with experimental results.
