Development of a new monolithic fast preamplifier to be used in LHC radiation environment

Abstract

In order to realize a radiation hardened charge sensitive preamplifier (CSP) in the monolithic technology, the performance of NPN and PNP transistor of a BiCMOS technology (called HF2CMOS) were measured after neutron irradiation. A monolithic CSP, realized with the same technology, was also irradiated. The illustrated results confirm that the HF2CMOS process is suitable to stand the radiation environment of the future LHC collider.
