The results computed in the present work are compared with other theoretical data from Refs. [2,8,29,31]. From Fig. 4, it can be seen that the differences between results in this work and other references become smaller for the stronger transitions.

There have been numerous experimental and theoretical investigations of multiply ionized atoms including silicon atoms [1–24] in recent years. The characteristic X-ray lines from variously ionized silicon atoms show up abundantly in the spectra of many astronomical objects including the sun, binary stars, and the galactic halo [21–24].
