Abstract

A modified chromatographic technique combined with a simple extraction method has been applied to the study of amino acids in human brain tumors. Two-dimensional and recorded one-dimensional amino acid thin-layer chromatograms of benign and malignant brain tumors were compared with the histological findings. Some data are given to show the usefulness of the simple method presented and a preliminary “classification” of the chromatograms obtained is made.
