Marine microbes as a valuable resource for brand new industrial biocatalysts
2017, Biocatalysis and Agricultural BiotechnologyCitation Excerpt :According to research review paper (Kumar and Takagi, 1999) optimum temperature (°C) of some proteases in marine microbes including Penicillum griseofulvin is 28 °C (Dixit and Verma, 1993), Bacillus sp. B21-2 is 30 °C (Fujiwara and Yamamoto, 1987), Aspergillus flavus is 32 °C (Malathi and Chakraborty, 1991), Bacillus sp. Y is 35 °C (Shimogaki et al., 1991), Bacillus licheniformis is 36 °C (Mao et al., 1992), B. alcalophilus subsp. halodurans KP1239 is 37 °C (Takii et al., 1990), Bacillus licheniformis is 39.5 °C (Hübner et al., 1993), Bacillus sp. strain B18′ is 40 °C (N. Fujiwara et al., 1993), Bacillus thermoruber BT2T is 45 °C (Manachini et al., 1988), Thermoactinomycetes sp.
Purification and characterization of novel organic solvent tolerant 98 kDa alkaline protease from isolated Stenotrophomonas maltophilia strain SK
2015, Protein Expression and PurificationCitation Excerpt :Diverse groups of microorganisms such as fungi, bacteria and actinomycetes have been known to produce alkaline proteases [6]. In case of bacteria Bacillus [7–11] and Streptomyces species [12–15] are predominant one. Miyaji and coworkers in 2005 described the production of extracellular alkaline serine protease from Stenotrophomonas maltophilia S-1 [16].
Utilization of agro-industrial waste (wheat bran) for alkaline protease production by Pseudomonas aeruginosa in SSF using Taguchi (DOE) methodology
2013, Biocatalysis and Agricultural BiotechnologyCitation Excerpt :Lesser pH requirement may be attributed to loss of microbial cell mass at alkaline pH. Leudking piret equation also revealed that alkaline protease synthesis is microbial growth associated and it initiates in late exponential stage (Ward, 1985). Table 6 shows that inoculum size of 5% was favorable for alkaline protease production which is slightly larger in comparison with previous findings due to difference in the nature of selected strains (Fujiwara and Yamamoto, 2008; Prakasham et al., 2005; Sen and Satyanaryana, 1993). Enhanced alkaline protease activity was obtained at an agitation speed of 100 rpm.
