Abstract
IN the diagnosis of deficiency and of poisoning of animals, one generally relies on the chemical analysis of the classical substrates like blood and liver. Eventually the composition of the food is also taken into consideration. It is surprising that in farm animals, and even in lactating animals, general methods largely derived from medical routine are used and that, for example, the milk as a substrate has been neglected.
