Abstract
IT has been generally accepted that the fluid bathing the central nervous system is produced within the cerebral ventricular system, although some people have favoured extraventricular formation1–3 as well. Some considered that another site of formation was the spinal subarachnoid space4,5 (Fig. 1), but others disagreed6,7.
