Electromagnetic Spectrum of NP 0532

Abstract

THE discovery of optical1 and X-ray2–5 emission from the Crab Nebula pulsar NP 0532 greatly extends, for this particular object at least, the spectral band to be accounted for by emission mechanisms. Induced scattering6–8 and synchrotron-like radiation9 might account for the high radio brightness, broad band and polarization of the radiation.
