Abstract
MUCH work has been carried out on the action of sodium salicylate on the hyaluronic acid hyaluronidase system, and some of it is contradictory. In fact, Guerra1 pointed out that salicylate inhibits the action of hyaluronidase, and on the basis of this, he suggested this inhibition would explain the action of the salicylate in rheumatic diseases. These results were completely or partially confirmed by others2–6.
