Notizen: A theory was developed to relate the average velocity of a fluidized particle to the fluidizing gas velocity and the minimum fluidization velocity. The development of this relationship was based on a model for particle movement caused by gas bubbles rising through the fluidized bed. The diffusivity for lateral solids mixing in a fluidized-packed bed can then be determined from the average particle velocity and the diameter of the fixed packing by the random walk theory.
