Notes:
An experimental study was made of radiative transfer through a plane-parallel enclosure of micron-sized, sphercal aluminim oxide particles and flake-like graphit particles. By suspending the particles in both carbon tetrachloride and carbon disulfide, transmission measurements were made at wave lengths from 2 to 11 microns with both collimated and diffuse incident radiation. In correlating the diffuse results, the two-flux model was rearranged so that the cloud transmission was experessed in terms of two cloud scattering parameters. The values of the scattering parameters as determined from the data were correlated with the properties of the cloud.
