Notes: A study was conducted on the use of magnetically stabilized fluidized (MSF) filters for removing fine particles from gases. The effect on filter performance of a number of variables was examined, including the applied field strength, gas velocities, and bed height. The dynamic behavior of MSF filters was found to be characterized by a decreasing collection efficiency with time as a result of significant particle re-entrainment.
