On te behavior of bras in diluted solutions of mineral acids and teir mixtures in presence as well as in asence of inhibitorsThe loss of weight of brass 40/60 in mineral acids and teir mixtures in presence resp. absence of inhibitors does not consist additively of the losses of weight caused by the not mixed acid solutions. The attack of acid mixtures does not depend on the activity of H-ions only but on the effecitivity of the anions also. In HCl - H3PO4 mixtures of constant acid concentration lower losses of weight were observed than in the pure acids of corresponding concentration. Inhibitors cause in some acids decreased, in others increased atacks. Mistures of inhibitors might show better or even worse effectivity than single inhibitors. Dezncking of brass will be prevented by application f inhibitors especially by those of high inhibitive effectivity. - It may be allowed to conclude from the dependance of the anion effectivity on the accelerating or inhibiting effect of the inhibitors at constant H+ activity tat the inhibitive effect does not so much depend on the mechanism H + H → H2 but on the more or less favorable conditions of the formation of protective covers.
Notes:
In manchen Säuren wirken Inhibitoren hemmend, in anderen jedoch sogar beschleunigend.
