    Description / Table of Contents: On corrosion inhibitors II: Research on the additivity of K and A inhibitors on iron The influence of impurity ions on the protection characteristics of K inhibitors on ironAn explanation is given of the onium thesis and of the notion of the K and A inhibitors. Possible inter-effects of K and A inhibitors with the metal surface are discussed. The behaviour of K and A inhibitors in the combination test is at least additive, frequently super-additive. Dissolved impurity metal ions enhance the protective effect of the K inhibitors in the following order:\documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$$ {\rm Hg 〈 Ni 〈 Ag 〈 Pd 〈 Cu}{\rm .} $$\end{document}The protective effect is increased by lower concentrations of FeIII ions, and decreased by higher concentrations. The influence of FeII ions is small, and depends very little on the concentration.
