Notes:
Steels having austeno-ferritic structure are highly resistant to stress corrosion cracking in the welded as well in the nonwelded condition. It has not been possible in laboratory experiments-calcium chloride solution at 100 °C, with and without anodic polarisation, and chloride containing media at 225 °C - to produce cracking. Crack formation which in exceptional cases may occur in the welded condition may be suppressed by the use of electrodes yielding a weld seam having the same composition as the base material.
