Notes:
There is a tension set up between the resin and the glass upon curing. A simple experiment has been devised to measure this tension and to note how it changes with time and temperature. It is found that it does not diminish with time and that it is linearly dependent on the highest temperature to which the resin has been brought during or after cure. NOL-type rings were made with the same resin systems and subjected to different cure temperature so that the effect of the different shrinkage tensions on the physical properties be examined.
